The Brief

 

Our longstanding client RSPCA Assured, a leading animal welfare charity, came to us with a fantastic brief to create a multimedia campaign to enhance its brand visibility and encourage consumers to make more conscious choices when purchasing animal products throughout the year. To achieve this, we created a stand-out multimedia campaign, 'Seasonal Feasts' which would use memorable occasions to springboard their brand and behaviour change.

 

The primary goal of the 'Seasonal Feasts' campaign was twofold:

1. Brand Awareness: Elevate the recognition and understanding of the RSPCA Assured logo among consumers, solidifying it as a trusted symbol for higher welfare produce.

2. Ethical Consumption: Encourage consumers to prioritise higher welfare options when buying meat and eggs for various occasions, including summer barbecues, pancake day, Christmas, and others.

The Concept 

 

2S Films collaborated closely with RSPCA Assured to conceive, develop, and execute the 'Seasonal Feasts' campaign, carefully aligning the concept, visuals and scripts in line with their brand and values. At the heart of the campaign was a series of captivating TV ads, showcasing visually appealing feasts, shot with state-of-the-art motion rig technology. Each ad featured a smooth, continuous shot along a table laden with a sumptuous spread, with hands popping into frame along with clever lighting and audio to create the perfect seasonal ambience and capturing the joyful essence of celebration.

Bringing the Concept to Life

 

We approached award-winning film director Charlie Paul to bring this campaign to life. Charlie was a trailblazer in the food advertising world, having worked with clients such as Marks and Spencer, Asda, Iceland and Bernard Matthews, and a true pioneer of motion rig technology in the industry. He has since gone on to direct numerous critically acclaimed documentaries and feature films with actors such as Johnny Depp, Ralph Steadman and Richard E Grant to name a few. As owner of Itch Film Studios, (one of only three studios in London with a motion rig) we knew that Charlie would not only bring his compelling approach to storytelling, but also provide an exceptional and dynamic environment to translate the campaign’s vision into reality.

 

The campaign's visual impact was also elevated by the artistic prowess of set designer Amiee Meek. Drawing from her experience, including her work on the BAFTA-winning film Boiling Point, Amiee Meek skillfully crafted the exquisite sets that formed the backdrop for the campaign's visuals.
